Liverpool have been given a boost in the race to sign Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton.
That’s because, according to The Mirror, the Holland international is keen to work with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal are also vying to land the former Celtic centre-back this Summer.
Premier League champions Chelsea are said to be in pole position to secure a deal for Van Dijk, but they aren’t offering the best financial package.
Liverpool and Arsenal are reported to be happy to offer the £50m asking price to Southampton as well as £200,000 a week wages to the player.
Klopp is said to have the edge over Arsene Wenger thanks to Liverpool’s top four finish and entry into the Champions League qualifiers.
This could be one of the transfer stories of the Summer.
