Liverpool are interested in signing Gael Clichy.
That’s according to a report by The Daily Mail in which it is claimed that a move for the Frenchman could soon be made.
Clichy has been released by City boss Pep Guardiola following the expiration of his contract at The Etihad.
The former Arsenal left-back would command a decent salary, but there would be no transfer fee involved.
Clichy, who is now thirty-one years of age, is reportedly viewed as a cheap option for the problem left-back position.
Another former City player has been covering the role in Klopp’s side, with midfielder James Milner playing there this season.
Clichy would not command the same wages as the ex-England international – if he is offered a deal by the club.
