Liverpool have held talks with the representatives of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita.
That’s according to Football Whispers, who are claiming an exclusive on the news that the club have been in touch with Arena11 Sports Group regarding the player.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is said to be very keen to bring the Guinea international to Anfield in the Summer and the article claims that the German regrets not making a move last Summer.
Liverpool winger Sadio Mane is represented by the same agency and there were talks over both Africans last Summer, but the club decided to sign the former Southampton man only.
RB Leipzig are paying Keita a reported £50,000 a week and the report claims that Liverpool were not happy to match that and left him to join the Bundesliga club in a deal worth £12m.
Keita is also claimed to have wanted to be given assurances over regular first-team football, which was another thing the club were not prepared to do.
RB Leipzig will qualify for next season’s Champions League and Keita will expect Liverpool to match that if he has any intention of making the move.
