AS Roma are set to launch a bid to sign Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho at the end of the season.
The Serie A club are reportedly keen to snap up the France international as they prepare to potentially lose Kostas Manolas.
Sakho is spending the second half of the campaign on loan with Premier League club Crystal Palace, but has three more years on his contract at Anfield.
There is no clause in the deal that will allow Palace to make the signing permanent, so Liverpool are free to try and find the best price possible.
Goal are reporting that Roma have dispatched scouts to watch Sakho in action for Sam Allardyce’s side and have been impressed with what they’ve seen.
Liverpool were looking to get £20m for the former Paris Saint Germain centre-back in January, but a buyer could not be found at that price.
But since he began impressing for Palace following his January deadline day move, the club are now hopeful of bringing in around £30m for Sakho.
In an interesting twist, the Reds are said to be keen to bring Manolas to Anfield at the end of the season and a swap deal could be in the pipeline.
But Klopp would face competition from Inter Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal if he does decide to press ahead with a move for the Greek international.
