Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will splash out around £75m on two players this Summer.
That’s according to a report in The Express, in which it is claimed that the German will push ahead with moves for Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk and RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita.
Holland international Van Dijk has been identified as the man required to shore up the leaky defence, with Mamadou Sakho set to be sold in order to raise funds for a £50m bid.
Klopp is aiming to secure a deal worth around £25m for Guinea international Keita, despite strong interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the twenty-two year old.
There will also be stiff competition in the race to land Saints defender Van Dijk, with both Manchester City and Chelsea eyeing up moves for the former Celtic player.
Van Dijk has spent the last couple of months out injured after continuing his impressive development at St Mary’s after his move from Scotland a couple of years ago.
Southampton are said to be resigned to losing him and are interested in replacing him with Sakho, which could give Klopp the upper hand in the fight to sign Van Dijk.
