Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is very keen to land Real Madrid star James Rodriguez this Summer.
That’s according to a report by Spanish newspaper Don Balon, who are reporting that the German will sanction a £43m Summer bid for the Colombian international at the end of the season.
Rodriguez has long been linked with a move to Anfield and it looks like he could be closer than ever before.
But any switch would almost certainly hinge on Klopp steering the team into next season’s Champions League with a top four finish in the current campaign.
There is likely to be plenty of competition for the twenty-five year old, however, with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United both closely monitoring Rodriguez with bids in mind.
Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane hasn’t used Rodriguez as much as his other star names this season and it has led to reports claiming that the Frenchman is prepared to cash in on him with Chelsea man Eden Hazard identified as a replacement.
Chelsea have reportedly been offered a player-plus-cash deal involving Rodriguez for the Belgian international.
