Olympique Marseille are planning a Summer swoop for Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
That’s according to Sport France, who are reporting that the Ligue 1 club are looking for an experienced stopper to help their bid to catch Paris Saint Germain next season.
Mignolet faces an uncertain future at Anfield despite reclaiming the number one spot from German youngster Loris Karius before Christmas.
The Belgian international looked likely to move on this Summer after manager Jurgen Klopp declared that the former Manchester City keeper would be his first-choice this season.
But some errors against West Ham United and Bournemouth saw the ex-Mainz man become the cup option with Mignolet back in the side for Premier League fixtures.
Klopp has been linked with bids for Leicester City stopper Kasper Schmeichel and Manchester City outcast Joe Hart, but it remains to be seen whether he will stick or twist his options.
Mignolet has made less errors than in previous seasons but still isn’t comparable to the keepers at the other top clubs in the Premier League and that could ultimately be his undoing.
