Liverpool are keen to sign AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
That’s according to The Mirror, who are reporting that the Greek international is on the wanted list of manager Jurgen Klopp for the Summer.
Klopp dispatched a scout to watch Manolas in action against Lyon in the Europa League last week and received some very positive reports back.
The twenty-five year old impressed the visiting scout, despite his side being knocked out of the competition, and has become a priority target for Klopp ahead of the end of the season.
Arsenal were reported to have had a £35m offer turned down by the Italian side last Summer and it could well be that a bigger bid than that will need to be made to secure his signature.
Greek club Olympiakos had a clause inserted in his contract that said they would be entitled to 50% of a future fee and it is believed that it has since expired – but was in effect for the Gunners’ offer.
Manolas has two more seasons left on his contract with the Serie A side.
