Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to make a move for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.
That’s according to Clubcall, who are reporting that the Germany under-21 striker is the subject of interest from Anfield with a Summer bid in the pipeline.
Werner has been one of the leading lights in Leipzig’s surprise Bundesliga debut season as they continue to keep leaders Bayern Munich in their sights.
He has so far notched fourteen goals in twenty-three outings since joining from VfB Stuttgart last year in a deal worth a reported £8m.
Werner is contracted to the Red Bull backed club until the Summer of 2020, so any move could prove quite expensive given his form this season.
Klopp is said to be keen on bringing in reinforcements up top thanks to the future of Daniel Sturridge looking increasingly likely to be elsewhere.
Divock Origi hasn’t looked like the answer either and injury-prone Danny Ings hasn’t had the chance to show Klopp what he can do yet.
