Dutch legend Frank De Boer has said that he rejected the chance to manage Liverpool.
The former Ajax and Barcelona defender has said that the offer, which he says came in 2012, was too early in his career as a manager and that he would still love to take over a club in England.
“I would love to manage here.” he told The Daily Mail.
“But the project has to be right.
“I told Liverpool I was honoured but I was only one year in at Ajax, it was too soon.
“I needed to achieve more, and I did.” he added.
Liverpool looked elsewhere for a replacement when Kenny Dalglish was sacked and appointed Brendan Rodgers, who was Swansea City manager at the time.
