Liverpool supporters are hopeful that the club will move for Manchester City star Sergio Aguero.

Before joining City from Atletico Madrid back in 2011, the Argentinian international spoke of his desire to one day play for the Reds.

Aguero, who was with Independiente at the time, was hopeful of swapping his boyhood club for Liverpool back in 2006 when still a teenager.

“If I had to choose a league then it would be the Premier League.” he said.

“I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there.

“I watched the Champions League final and celebrated every goal as if it was for Independiente.”

Aguero has found himself starting games on the bench for City with manager Pep Guardiola preferring young Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus – who suffered a metatarsal injury against Bournemouth on Monday evening.

The bookies certainly seem to think the player will be on the move in the summer with odds as short as 7/4 (source:, and Liverpool supporters are hoping that Anfield will be his destination…

While there are others less enthused by the idea of seeing Aguero realise his childhood ambition…
