Reds get Firmino boost for Chelsea

Klopp will be glad to have Firmino available

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has successfully had his court hearing delayed.

And that means that the Brazil international will no longer be a possibly absentee for Tuesday evening’s visit of Chelsea to Anfield in a key Premier League fixture.

The former Hoffenheim man was in danger of missing the match after a hearing over his being caught under the influence on Christmas Eve by the authorities.

It follows hot on the heels of the news that Sadio Mane should be back in time to at least take a place on the bench for the visit of the Premier League leaders.

Manager Jurgen Klopp needs all of his best players available as he looks to turn around a woeful run of form that has seen his side drop ten points behind Antonio Conte’s side.

This is the final game of a packed January schedule that has seen Liverpool win just once – an unconvincing 1-0 victory over League Two Plymouth Argyle.

Other results have seen Klopp’s side lose to Swansea City in the league as well as cup exits at the hands of Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A loss here would all but end any lingering hopes of a first Premier League title and put a serious dent into the prospects of a top four finish.
