Klopp has no plans to sign Promes

    Promes is a Holland international

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has no plans to sign Quincy Promes from Spartak Moscow.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who are reporting that the Holland international has been scouted by the club but has not impressed enough to be signed during the transfer window this month.

Promes has been regularly linked with a switch to Anfield in the past few weeks and is claimed to have a release clause in his contract that says he can make an exit for a fee of around £25m.

The twenty-five year old has been in prolific form in the Russian top flight and many supporters are keen to see him provide cover and competition for the likes of Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho.

But, and despite the public hopes of Georginio Wijnaldum, it appears that a bid from Liverpool for his services is not forthcoming and he will be staying with Spartak for now.

That is unless another club makes a move to sign him during the window – and rivals Everton have been touted as another suitor, with scouts of theirs present to watch him in action recently.

After Borussia Dortmund warned Klopp off making a move for teenager Christian Pulisic, it seemed that Promes had moved up the list of targets.
