Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has told Liverpool to forget about making a move for Kasper Schmeichel.
The goalkeeper has been linked with a switch to Anfield recently after Loris Karius’ poor start to life at the club saw him replaced by Simon Mignolet.
The Belgian was criticised for conceding against Stoke City on Tuesday evening and that has seen talk of a move for a replacement keeper quickly resurface.
But Ranieri is determined to keep the thirty year old Danish international in his squad at the Premier League champions.
“Kasper has a signature on the contract.” he told Sky Sports.
“We won’t sell Kasper under any circumstances. We don’t need money. No chance.
“I’m sorry for Liverpool. They can win the title without Kasper.” he finished.
It would certainly be a surprise if Leicester were willing to let Schmeichel move on in January given their relegation battle and continuing participation in the Champions League.
