Liverpool are planning a move for Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
That’s according to several reports, all of which claim that Jurgen Klopp has identified the England international as a potential January signing.
However, it seems highly unlikely that Arsenal would consider allowing the twenty-three year old make the move from the Emirates to Anfield given both clubs being in the title mix this season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has struggled to hold down a place in the starting XI under Arsene Wenger since joining the London club from Southampton back in 2011.
That’s been down to stiff competition in the Gunners’ squad as well as a series of injuries – another of which he has suffered recently after a promising start to the current season.
He has failed to complete ninety minutes in any of his twenty-three appearances for Arsenal so far this season, but he has managed to score six goals during those games – including one against Liverpool back in August.
After Arsenal’s failed bid for Luis Suarez back in 2013, relations between the clubs have somewhat soured and that will only further distance any potential deal.
