Liverpool are keen to sign Paris Saint Germain attacker Jese Rodriguez.
That’s according to Las Palmas president Angel Ramirez, who is also keen to sign the former Real Madrid man in January.
But the Spanish club cannot afford Jese’s wages and are also a way down the pecking order of clubs who are looking to end the Spaniard’s short spell at the Parc des Princes.
Ramirez has revealed that his salary is “very high” and out of reach of the Los Amarillos and that some heavyweight clubs are keeping a close eye on the Spain international.
“Jese Rodriguez is a great footballer.” he told Las Provincia.
“He wants to come to Las Palmas, but he is owned by PSG and earns a salary that is of his level – and that is very high.
“Liverpool, Milan and Roma want Jese and are ready to pay what he earns. We cannot afford that salary.
“With respect to other clubs, we are at a disadvantage and hence we have to wait. But we don’t want to create false expectations.” he finished.
It remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp is genuinely interested or if old interest from Brendan Rodgers’ days is being recycled.
