Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho is keen to join Barcelona.
That’s according to Spanish outlet Sport – who are reporting that the Brazilian would like to swap Anfield for the Camp Nou.
The former Inter Milan player has been regularly linked with moves away from Anfield in recent months, but this is the first time it has been claimed he is looking to make an exit – and it should be noted that this is from a source in Spain.
Coutinho has been in impressive form for the Reds this season and has excelled under the management of Jurgen Klopp since the German’s arrival a little over a year ago.
He has become a leading player for the side after the departures of Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard in the past couple of years.
It would represent a big blow to the club to see another star player ask to leave following the aforementioned and Raheem Sterling’s switch to Manchester City last year.
Coutinho has said that he is happy at the club recently, but the lure of Barcelona to Latin players could prove decisive.
The article claims that representatives of Coutinho approached Barcelona in the Summer, but the Catalan club chose to sign Paco Alcacer and Andre Gomes from Valencia instead.
