Liverpool have been given a boost in the pursuit of Ante Coric.
The Croatian international is reported to be unhappy with life at Dinamo Zagreb after falling out with manager Zeljko Sopic, according to Calciomercato.
Coric, who is nineteen years of age, was heavily linked with a move to Anfield in the Summer and is said to be on Jurgen Klopp’s wanted list going into the coming transfer windows.
The teenager has been linked with a whole host of clubs around Europe, however, and so Klopp will need to move fast to secure the attacking midfielder if he wants to bring him to Merseyside.
Coric only made his international debut in May and was an unused member of Croatia’s Euro 2016 squad, but the experience of tournament football will be a boost to his development.
He claimed in the Summer that he was very close to making the move to Anfield – but he says that he decided to remain where he was.
”I am happy such big clubs want me, but I want to play with my favourite team in the Champions League.” he told Goal.com
“It was up to me to decide, all I needed to do was a medical, but I want to stay at Dinamo, where I can give a lot more.” he added.
If that rejection is true, it is unlikely to have gone down well with Klopp.
