Germany international Jonas Hector has put pen to paper on a new contract with Koln.
The left-back has been linked with a switch to Anfield over the past few months and was favoured by many as a replacement for Spaniard Alberto Moreno.
But it now looks like any move for the twenty-six year old is dead after he signed a new deal with the Bundesliga club that will run until 2021.
Hector played for his country at Euro 2016 and many Liverpool supporters liked what they saw of the defender and were hoping that Jurgen Klopp would make a move for his compatriot.
But Koln were reportedly asking for over £20m for the left-back and that is said to have put Liverpool off any move as the club are said to not believe that Hector is worth that kind of money.
Klopp had moved for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell earlier in the Summer, but the England under-21 international also signed a new contract.
The search continues for a new left-back.
