Liverpool will make an offer to FC Koln for defender Jonas Hector.
That is according to journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, who has told Tribal Football that Jurgen Klopp has decided to go ahead with a move for the left-back.
Hector played for Germany at Euro 2016 and has been regularly linked with a move to Anfield in the last few months.
Koln are said to be demanding £22.5m for Hector and have already signed another left-back, which indicates that they are prepared for his departure.
Any move by Klopp could depend on raising funds from the expected sales of Christian Benteke, Lazar Markovic and Mario Balotelli.
Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell was the number one target for the troublesome left-back spot, but he has signed a new contract with the Premier League champions.
