Liverpool have had an offer for Portugal midfielder Joao Mario rejected.
That’s according to his agent, Kia Joorabchian, who has claimed that the Reds were among four clubs who made bids for the Euro 2016 winner.
He went on to explain that Sporting Lisbon rejected all four offers for the Portuguese international.
“A European champion must be rewarded. From now on, we either discuss a new contract or the sale to another club.” he told Record.
“Sporting received four offers. Inter Milan and Liverpool, certainly, with amounts between 35 and 40 million, plus bonuses.
“Sporting turned down all bids.” he added.
Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea are said to be the other two clubs who are pursuing Joao Mario and have been reported to be keen to sign him.
