Liverpool are being linked with a move for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
A report in French newspaper L’Equipe claims that the France international is a Summer target for Jurgen Klopp as he looks to make changes to the squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers.
Sissoko, who is contracted at St James’ Park until 2019, was made captain by boss Rafa Benitez as the Magpies unsuccessfully fought against relegation to the Championship.
And the former Toulouse man is said to be keen to move on and not spend next season in the second tier. He has stated his desire to join Arsenal, but they have already signed Granit Xhaka.
Should Klopp decide to make a move for him, the German will likely face plenty of competition as Tottenham, West Ham, AC Milan and Napoli have all been linked with the midfielder. Hamburg have reportedly had a £9m offer rejected.
Sissoko has been included in the French squad for Euro 2016 ahead of the tournament being held in his homeland.
