Hummels prefers Anfield move

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels would prefer a move to Liverpool over Manchester City or Chelsea.

That’s according to The Express, with Colin Mafham reporting that the German international sees regular football at Anfield as preferable.

City would not necessarily grant the German more than a “possible stand-in role” according to the article.

Chelsea are looking for a replacement for John Terry as well as a new manager. Hummels is said to see a move to Stamford Bridge as third choice.

The current Premier League champions are said to be looking at a move for Everton’s John Stones. Although apparent incoming manager Antonio Conte is said to want Juventus man Leonardo Bonucci.

Hummels knows all about Jürgen Klopp from their time together at Dortmund and that will add weight to any offer from the German manager.

But it remains to be seen if the Bundesliga club would even consider selling Hummels.

    1. I picked Hummels out when he had just signed for Dortmund. To be honest I was looking over the then Castrol rankings and here was this kid way up there even above Subotic. So I stared watching him and found him to be a very British style centre defender. In many ways he reminded me of Carragher only technically better and faster across the ground. My worst fear was that he’d sign for Man U because I think he is that good. So if he signed for Liverpool I’d be over the moon.
