Liverpool have made a £5.6million bid for River Plate striker Lucas Alario.
That’s according to Argentine website Infobae, who say that the twenty-two year old is being lined up for a Summer move to Anfield.
River are thought to value Alario at £8.5m, however, so the offer may need to be increased in order to bring Alario to the club.
Alario moved to River Plate last year and has scored ten goals in nineteen games so far, which has alerted visiting scouts.
He scored twelve goals in fifty odd games for former club Colon, so has made the step up comfortably.
Alario could be seen as a replacement for Christian Benteke, who looks increasingly likely to move on this Summer, and he looks a better fit for Jurgen Klopp’s system than the Belgian.
