Teixeira explains why he wants Reds move

Teixeira celebrates scoring against Real Madrid

Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira has spoken publicly about why he wants to move to Anfield and has said what he could bring to the side.

The uncapped Brazilian has been the subject of a failed bid from Liverpool with his club holding out for close to £40m before they will let him move on.

And that has seen the twenty-six year old frustrated as he looks to move to the Premier League this month.

Teixeira was speaking to NBC 6 Sports reporter Stefano Fusaro in Florida

“The way I play is always looking to score. I could definitely add an attacking threat,” he told NBC 6 Sports reporter Stefano Fusaro on behalf of Anfield HQ in Florida.

“Especially if I’m paired with all of the talented players they already have on the squad.

“I’ve played with Coutinho since we were ten. It would be a lot of fun to play with him again.

“For me, it is the best league in the world. I believe in myself, and I feel that would be the best move for my career.

“I’ve reached an age, twenty six years old, in which I’m really looking to break into the Brazil team.

“2018 may be the last World Cup I have a chance to play in, so I want to go to a big club and show what I can do at the highest level, and hopefully be selected for Brazil.” he finished.

Time is running out for the Reds to wear down Shakhtar’s resolve.
