Italian striker Giuseppe Rossi will “99% leave Fiorentina in January” according to his agent.
The former Manchester United forward has been linked with a move to Anfield and the chances of that have increased.
His agent, Federico Pastorello, has confirmed that his client wants to make an exit from the Viola in order to get more first-team football.
And with Euro 2016 places up for grabs he will need to be playing matches.
“The club has realised it cannot keep hold of the lad because he wants to play.” Pastorello told Radio Marte.
“He will 99% leave Fiorentina in January.”
Bologna were said to be contenders for Rossi’s signature, but their director of sport has ruled a move out.
“Roberto Donadoni plays 4-3-3 and Rossi wouldn’t have much space in that system, because we already have Mattia Destro.” Pantaleo Corvino told Lady Radio.
“The quality of the player is not up for debate, but he is not part of our plans.” he added.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is rumoured to be looking for another striker with injuries to Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings leaving him low on options up top.
A loan move for Rossi could be the best outcome for all parties, but it remains to be seen whether the German is keen on him.
