Subotic looking to win back Dortmund place

Müller and Alonso in Champions League action

Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic has sent a message to the club’s fans on Facebook saying that he wants to fight for his place.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Serbian international following his struggles to get back into the side under Thomas Tuchel.

He worked under Jürgen Klopp at both Dortmund and Mainz and the pair have a strong bond following their time together.

But Subotic appears determined to win back his place under Tuchel following a spell of injury that has held back the twenty-seven year old’s progress.

    The (translated) statement reads:

    Dear friend,
I would like to again stress how important it was to have won in the outstanding match against Frankfurt today. It was really nice to see how the residue had no effect and we were clearly over 90 minutes addition to our actions. I was always sure that we will win sooner or later in this form. With such clarity, we create two more wins this year, of which I am firmly convinced.
Still coming to ask how to do it myself and therefore I would like to make a clear statement: I use the next two weeks to prepare the best possible way to further attack the next year. In order to improve my position in the second half. My clear goal is again to play the role in which you have also seen me in recent years.
    Your Neven
