Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport are claiming that Liverpool could renew interest in Martin Montoya.
The defender is on loan at Inter Milan from European champions Barcelona – but he is said to be considering cutting short his spell with the Serie A club.
And that has led to the Reds again being linked with a bid for the right-back after supposed interest in the Summer.
Brendan Rodgers was previously said to be keen on bringing the twenty-four year old to Merseyside, but he opted to make a season-long loan switch to the San Siro back in the Summer.
It doesn’t seem to have worked out as well as the Spaniard would have hoped and he is reportedly looking to return to Spain in January.
But the report claims that he could be tempted by a switch to the Premier League – although it remains to be seen whether Jürgen Klopp would be interested in the full-back.
He would be unlikely to dislodge Nathaniel Clyne from the right-back berth in Klopp’s side and may fancy his chances better elsewhere.
Should Montoya finally be brought to Anfield or is he one to avoid? Let us know below…
