Klopp linked with several Dortmund stars

Neven Subotic, Marco Reus and Mats Hummels have all been linked with Anfield switches

Jürgen Klopp has revealed that there is no agreement that he will refrain from signing players from former club Borussia Dortmund.

And that news has seen Klopp linked with moves for Dortmund stars Marco Reus, Neven Subotic, Mats Hummels and Nuri Sahin – who previously spent time on loan at Anfield.

“I have no agreement with Borussia Dortmund. I know it has been said, but no.” Klopp confirmed.

“If we have to battle with Manchester City, they can pay crazy money in a crazy market, so maybe we don’t look at the big players.

“Maybe we don’t always take the guy who everybody knows.” he continued.

This has seen rumours emerge that Klopp wants to snap up some of the talent he signed and developed during seven years with the Bundesliga club.

Hummels is a wanted man around Europe and would cost at least £25m – but his defensive partner Subotic is reportedly more likely to be available for around £15m.

Reus has been consistently linked with a move to Anfield, as well as many other top clubs, and would cost considerably more than the other names mentioned.

While Sahin could be persuaded to return to Anfield with Klopp now in charge rather than Brendan Rodgers – and Klopp has said that his relations with his former side’s players remains strong.

“I have a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund and I have a very good relationship with all their players.” he said.

“If there was a possibility and we needed a player, we could try but at the moment there is no agreement to buy anyone from Borussia Dortmund or to sell to them.

“I am here at the training ground from morning to night… we talk about players and make sure we are prepared for the moment when we need to be ready.” he finished.
