Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel has praised the work ethic of new striker Danny Ings.
Ings, who has scored twice recently, has come into Brendan Rodgers’ side following an injury to Christian Benteke and he has shown some impressive signs.
Skrtel has said that facing Ings was “really tough” last season and the Slovakian international is pleased to have the former England under-21 on his side now.
“I know he didn’t score but facing him was tough, really tough.” he told the Echo.
“I remember how he never stopped running and moving.
“If you switched off for even a second he was gone and he’s been the same in training here. I’m glad he’s with us now.
“The amount of work he puts in every day is huge and I’m hoping he can score lots of goals this season.”
Ings scored goals in the 1-1 draws with Norwich City and Carlisle United last week.
