Liverpool have confirmed that Fabio Borini has completed a permanent move to Sunderland today.
The Italian moves for a fee reported to be £8m + £2m in potential add ons.
A statement on Liverpoolfc.com reads:
“Liverpool FC can today confirm that Fabio Borini has completed a permanent move to fellow Barclays Premier League outfit Sunderland.
“The Italian spent the 2013-14 season on loan with the Black Cats, scoring seven goals in 32 league games.
“And he has now agreed a return to the Stadium of Light, bringing his three-year association with the Reds to an end in the process.
“Borini, who moved to Anfield from Roma in 2012, departs having made 38 appearances in all competitions for the club.” it concluded.
Borini spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Sunderland and they made an offer to sign him a year ago, but he rejected the offer in order to stay at Anfield and fight for his place.
He follows former Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates to the Stadium of Light.
