Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge won’t be rushed back from injury, says manager Brendan Rodgers.
The England international spent most of last season out of action thanks to a succession of injuries.
Sturridge has spent the recent months in the US with specialists in order to rehabilitate himself in order to get back into action.
But Rodgers won’t hurry him into the team and will not put a timescale on a return.
“There’s no timeline on Daniel. He has obviously been away working in America.” he told Liverpoolfc.com
“He has come back and it’s just about him working hard now to get somewhere near the level of the group. There’s no time on it.
“He came back and looks well – he’s really excited and happy to be back among his teammates.
“We’ll just have to take that week on week, rather than put any sort of pressure on a time for him.” he concluded.
