Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is close to making a loan return to former club AC Milan.
Sky Italia are reporting that the details of the deal between the two clubs is close to completion.
It is claimed that no loan fee will be paid by the Italian club and there will be no clause inserted that triggers a permanent deal down the line.
Balotelli moved to Anfield from the Serie A club a year ago in a deal worth £16m but had a woeful season on Merseyside.
The Italian managed just one Premier League goal and scored a total of four in all competitions.
Manager Brendan Rodgers quickly lost patience with the much-maligned twenty-five year old and told him in no uncertain terms that his Liverpool career was over before the start of the new season.
Balotelli has been linked with several other clubs, but it seems that a return to the San Siro is on the cards.
