Former Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has claimed that Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli “has all the attributes to be one of the top forwards in Europe”.
The pair have previously played together for Italy and Pirlo has been impressed with the ability shown by the striker.
Balotelli has endured an awful year at Anfield after signing from AC Milan in a £16m deal last August.
He managed just four goals all season for the club, with just one Premier League strike.
But Pirlo, who recently moved to MLS to play for New York City, believes in Balotelli.
“I’ll tell you that Mario is one of the nicest guys you will meet.” he said.
“I used to walk into training in Italy and even before he said something I could just look in his face and I would start laughing.
“There are never boring moments when Mario is around.
“He made mistakes when he was younger, he knows this, but I hope next season goes well for him.
“I still believe he has all the attributes to be one of the top forwards in Europe.” he finished.
Balotelli looks set to leave Anfield this Summer after the addition of three new strikers to Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
