England under-19 boss Sean O’Driscoll is reportedly set to join Brendan Rodgers’ coaching staff.
O’Driscoll, who is fifty-seven years old, has previously been manager at Nottingham Forest, Doncaster Rovers, Bournemouth, Crawley and Bristol City in his career.
The exact role he will take up has not yet been confirmed, but he does look likely to become a replacement for either Mike Marsh or Colin Pascoe.
Rodgers has previously welcomed O’Driscoll to Melwood to observe training sessions and it turned out that the pair shared similar views on the game.
The opportunity to work with the Liverpool boss is said to have been the deciding factor for O’Driscoll, who reportedly feels his work with the international side is not finished.
Academy coach Pepijn Lijnders is being strongly tipped as another appointment to the first-team coaching team.
