Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has revealed that no bids have yet been made for striker Christian Benteke.
The Belgian forward has been linked with a move to Anfield following a fine spell of form in the second half of the season.
Liverpool are reportedly preparing to make a bid for the big frontman, but Sherwood has said that they’ve not heard anything as yet.
“As I say we have no offers for Christian and it’s not worth talking about until we do,” said Sherwood.
The Villa Park manager went on to say that they are not looking to sell their prize asset and hope to keep him for the foreseeable future.
“We are happy with him here, delighted with him, and we hope he is here for many years to come.” he added.
Brendan Rodgers is said to be looking for attacking reinforcements after seeing his side score almost half as many goals as they managed in 2013/14.
The sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona and injuries to Daniel Sturridge were major issues for the Reds.
The club are set to wait until after Saturday’s FA Cup final to make their move for Benteke and could face competition from Manchester United.
