Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan has been ruled out for at least another six months after undergoing knee surgery.
The twenty-two year old defender has missed the entire season so far and will not manage to feature in a single game thanks to the injury.
The England international has suffered with a build up of fluid on his knee and has not been able to get clear of the injury.
Surgery back in September was thought to have set him on the road to recovery, but he has had to go under the knife again in effort to remove the problem.
Flanagan is out of contract at the end of the season and although talks have been ongoing over a new deal recently, he may now see them put on ice until he recovers.
The young right-back is set to be out until at least November and could struggle to play again in 2015 after recently featuring in a friendly match.
