The agent of Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has played down the speculation linking his client with a move away from Villa Park.
Belgium international Benteke has been back in form since Tim Sherwood took over at Villa and it has seen talk of a switch to Anfield resurface after prior links.
But his agent, Eris Kismet, has dismissed the rumours and said that the big forward is concentrating on keeping Villa in the Premiership.
“At the moment, there is no interest.” Kismet told Sky Sports.
“Every player and staff member is concentrated on avoiding relegation, anything else is just a distraction.
“I know everyone wants the same thing because I watch the games and I think Aston Villa are playing the best football in England right now.” he concluded.
Reports have claimed that Benteke is the subject of interest from both Liverpool and rivals Manchester United with a price tag of £30m touted as sufficient to get him.
