Former Southampton forward Matt Le Tissier has advised Liverpool attacker Raheem Sterling to sign a new deal and stay at Anfield.
The twenty year old England international has reportedly rejected contract offers from the club and put off further discussions until the Summer – which has alerted the attention of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
And Sky Sports pundit Le Tissier has said that he thinks it would be a bad move on Sterling’s part to make an exit from Liverpool.
“Is that going to be best for his development? Possibly not.” he said.
“At those clubs, there’s a lot more pressure, a lot better players around him, and he may not play week in, week out. At Liverpool he will get that. He’s pretty much guaranteed of playing week in, week out.
“I think this really boils down to what Raheem wants out of his career.
“If he wants to go and make as much money as he possibly can, which I’m not going to criticise him for, if that’s what he wants to do, then absolutely fine – then you’ll see him going to one of the big boys abroad.” he finished.
The former Queens Park Rangers trainee has reportedly become disillusioned with playing at right wing-back and wants to return to the Reds’ attack.
