According to reports today, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is considering making a Summer move for Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic.
The Mirror claim that the twenty-five year old forward is likely to leave the Etihad at the end of the season after being omitted from City’s Champions League squad for the knockout phase of the competition.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini signed Wilfried Bony from Swansea City in the winter transfer window and he has taken Jovetic’s place in the European squad.
Italian clubs Juventus and Inter Milan have been linked with bids for Jovetic to try and take him back to Serie A, where he played for Fiorentina before moving to City in the Summer of 2013.
But the Montenegro international may prefer to stay in England and a move to Liverpool would mean that he would not have to move home.
It remains to be seen whether Brendan Rodgers will opt to make an offer for Jovetic as striker Divock Origi is set to return from his loan at former club Lille and the Reds’ boss has been linked with a move for Burnley forward Danny Ings, who is out of contract in the Summer.
