Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is being linked with a move to new Major League Soccer club Orlando City.
The Italian has had a disappointing and frustrating first season at Anfield and could be set to call it quits on his attempts to become a regular under Brendan Rodgers by signing a lucrative deal with the American side.
Balotelli, who made a £16m move from AC Milan last Summer, has not started a Premiership game since November and has been restricted to cameo appearances from the bench.
His late winner against top four rivals Spurs last month looked to be the catalyst for better things at Anfield for the Italian, but he has found himself on the bench with Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling preferred in the striking role.
That could lead to him deciding that he is destined to fail at the club and a move to the US could be what he needs to get his flagging career back on track.
Balotelli’s former AC Milan team-mate Kaka has already signed for Orlando City, though he is currently out on loan at Sao Paulo before the season begins, and is being used as bait to try and tempt the striker to make the move as well.
The former Manchester City man has failed to get off the bench in the last two Premiership games and could see the signs mounting up that he is a square peg looking to fill a round hole at Anfield.
Balotelli has also been linked with a return to Serie A, with Juventus, Inter, Lazio, Sampdoria and Roma touted as possible destinations.
With Divock Origi set to return to Anfield after a season long loan back at Lille and Danny Ings being strongly linked with a move to Anfield, Balotelli could be surplus to requirements.
