Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has said that the contract situation of Raheem Sterling will be “organised very soon”.
Reports this past week emerged claiming that the England international had turned down another contract offer from the club and wanted £100,000 per week to sign new terms.
But the Reds’ boss has told his press conference that things are “all in hand” and will be dealt with sooner rather than later for the “very happy” twenty year old attacker.
“I’m sure it will be sorted and organised very soon,” Rodgers said.
“I think it’s all in hand with the club and his representatives.
“Raheem is very happy here. He is a young player that’s playing very well at one of the best clubs in the world.
“He sees his long-term future here. I spoke with him today. He is very happy with his progress and how he is developing.
“He is a real sponge for learning.” he concluded.
Sterling has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Chelsea amid the talk of contract rejections and a desire for regular Champions League football – something Rodgers thinks Liverpool can offer him in his career.
