Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Daniel Sturridge is likely to return to the side from his injury lay-off in January.
The former Chelsea forward was injured while on England duty in early September and two further setbacks have meant that he hasn’t been able to add to the three Premier League appearances he made in August.
Sturridge has recently spent time in America in a bid to speed up his recovery and get him back to the first-team sooner than expected. And Rodgers has stated that he will be returning to England shortly to finish his recuperation,
“He will be back here to finalise his rehab in early January.” he said.
“He should be back playing mid-to-late January.”
Rodger is in desperate need of some goal threat in his side, with Summer signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failing to cover the absence of Sturridge and the loss of Luis Suarez.
