Reports are linking Paris Saint Germain’s Argentine attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi with a switch to Liverpool in the January transfer window.
The former Napoli man has been strongly linked with a move to Serie A side Inter Milan, but new boss Roberto Mancini is said to also be looking at Arsenal’s German international Lukas Podolski.
And reports in Italy claim that Podolski’s move to Serie A will allow Lavezzi to join Liverpool in January. And the Argentine apparently has refused to travel to Morocco to meet up with the rest of the PSG squad for a mid-winter training retreat.
Brendan Rodgers is keen to add to his attacking options with his Liverpool side scoring approximately half as many goals at this stage of the season as the last. The additions of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have failed to make up for the loss of Luis Suarez to Barcelona and so the manager is looking at his options.
The reports claim that PSG could be willing to accept as little as £8m for Lavezzi, which would be a very payable price for the club.
