Mamadou Sakho has apologised to the club and its fans after leaving Anfield an hour before kick off on Saturday after being told he wasn’t going to feature in the Merseyside derby.
The Frenchman was snapped by an eagle eyed supporter getting into his car outside the stadium ahead of the crucial Premiership fixture.
And now Sakho has decided to apologise to all concerned after his decision to leave before the game.
“I really want to apologise to the club, the supporters and every person who felt offended when I left the stadium this afternoon,” he wrote on Twitter on Saturday evening.
It isn’t a wise move by Sakho to risk alienating Brendan Rodgers, as the Northern Irishman has shown he is not afraid to leave players out in the cold.
