LFC draw Real Madrid in Group B

Liverpool have drawn reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid in Group B. The Reds have also been paired with Swiss Champions FC Basel, and Bulgarian side Ludogorets.

Liverpool fans will look back to the last time the Reds faced Real Madrid back in 2009. The Reds won the last 16 tie 5-0 over the two legs, after a Yossi Benayoun header earned a 1-0 win in the Bernabeu.

The return leg at Anfield was one of those special European nights, with the Reds running out 4-0 winners with goals from Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard (twice) and Andrea Dossenna.

Liverpool are also set to come up against FC Basel, who knocked them out of the group stage in the 2002-03 season after a 1-1 draw at Anfield and a deciding 3-3 draw in Switzerland.
