On-loan midfielder Suso has revealed he still feels a big part of Liverpool, despite spending the season with Spanish side Almeria.
The young Spaniard says he has kept in close contact with manager Brendan Rodgers, who has been impressed with his displays in 32 La Liga appearances this season.
Suso – who took his goal tally to three for the season with a fantastic free kick winner over Espanyol – has revealed he keeps in regular contact with not only the boss, but his Liverpool teammates, and as a result feels still a part of the squad.
“I speak with Brendan regularly, we are always in contact and I’m also in touch with other people at the club,” he told the Daily Mirror.
“For those reasons I still feel part of the club and, when possible, I have watched the majority of their matches this season.”
The Spaniard has previously stated his desire to return to the club in the summer to experience Champions League football at Anfield, and his performances in Spain will have done no harm to that dream becoming a reality.
His free kick goal at the weekend was not only beautiful in it’s execution, but crucial in helping Almeria achieve their goal of avoiding relegation.
“It was one of the best goals of my career,” said Suso. “But not just because it was a free kick, but because it was so important in regards to the situation of this club.”
