Jose Enrique will be out of action for around ten weeks after undergoing surgery on his right knee.
The twenty seven year old hasn’t started a game since October when Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at Anfield.
“Liverpool Football Club can confirm that Jose Enrique has successfully undergone arthroscopic surgery to resolve an issue with his right knee,” a statement on Liverpoolfc.com said.
“Enrique is expected to return to full training at Melwood in around 10 weeks’ time.”
Aly Cissokho and Jon Flanagan have both filled in at left-back in his absence and it looks like they will continue to do so in the meantime.
