Former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko has failed to earn a contract at Belgian giants Anderlecht after a trial.
The 28 year old has been a free agent since leaving French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Summer.
He has been training with the Belgian club for a fortnight, but they have decided against giving him a long term deal.
“The management and the board of Anderlecht have, after consultation, decided not to do a deal.” a club statement read.
“The reasons are that the 90 minutes against NAC Breda passed smoothly. We also could not agree with the financial demands of the player or his physical state.”
General manager Herman Van Holsbeeck added: “Although Mohamed Sissoko could have offered his experience and leadership, we could not find any agreement.
“I want to personally thank him for his positive attitude.”
Sissoko has also held talks with French giants Monaco and English club Reading, but has so far failed to find a contract.
