Liverpool sign Aspas

It is being reported that Iago Aspas has passed his medical and signed a contract with the club.

After some red tape issues held up the transfer in Spain, the Celta Vigo attacker finally appears to have completed his move – and signed “a long term contract”.Aspas, yet to be capped by Spain, scored twelve times in thirty five outings for the relegation threatened club – who saved themselves from the drop on the final day of the Spanish season.

He becomes Brendan Rodgers’ third signing of an already busy Summer. Manchester City centre back Kolo Toure has agreed a Bosman free transfer to Anfield with Sevilla attacker Luis Alberto also added to the squad.

Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is also poised to sign for the club after a deal was struck earlier this week.
